Effingham St. Anthony High School played host to Dieterich and claimed a 10-2 National Trail Conference softball victory Monday.

The Bulldogs edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then tacked on one in the third, three in the fifth and five in the sixth.

St. Anthony had 14 hits led by Kinkelaar with three singles and two RBI, Kabbes a single, double and an RBI, Woltman two singles and two RBI and L. Day two singles and an RBI.

Dieterich was led by Bierman with a single and double.

A.Day picked up the pitching win on the two-hitter with four walks and 12 strikeouts.

At Neoga

Altamont trailed Neoga 3-2 after the first inning but came back with an eight-run second and went on to trounce the homestanders, 22-8.

Altamont had 13 hits and was aided by five Neoga errors. Mette had two singles, a triple and four RBI, Kopplin two singles and four RBI, Biggs two singles and three RBI, Shryock two singles and an RBI, Burns two singles and Guse a double and an RBI. Altamont improves to 4-1 in the NTC, 8-11 overall.

Neoga was led by Partlow with two singles, Atwell with two singles and Saunders with a single, double and five RBI.

At Ramsey

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged Ramsey 9-8 in action Monday.

Ramsey held a 1-0 first inning lead and a 4-2 lead after five innings. CHBC then tallied four in the sixth and Ramsey tied the score in the bottom of the frame 6-6. CHBC then scored a single run in the seventh.

CHBC was led by Wheeler with two singles, a double and three RBI, Kirchhofer with a single and double and Dye, Gardner adn Easley with two singles each. Gardner added an RBI.

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg blanked St. Elmo/Brownstown 10-0 in five innings Monday.

WSS edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then had a four-run second, a two-run fourth and finished the game in the fifth with three more runs.

WSS was led by Tabbert with a single, double and three RBI and Schlechte with two singles and an RBI. Schlechte threw a two-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts.

SEB was led by Moss and Oberlink with a single each.

Cumberland blanked Martinsville 13-0 in five innings Monday as Liberty Dunaway threw a no-hitter.

The Pirates took a 3-0 first inning lead, added on two in the second, seven in the third and one more in the fourth.

Dunaway allowed one walk and struck out six. She added a triple and an RBI offensively. Hendrix had two singles and an RBI and S. Oakley a single, double and two RBI. McMechan added three singles and an RBI.

Cumberland is now 7-0 in the Little Okaw Valley Conference, 11-7 overall.

At Toledo

Olney came calling and claimed a 5-3 win over Newton Monday.

The Tigers took a 3-1 lead in the third. Newton pulled within 3-2 in the fifth but Olney tacked on two more runs in the sixth.

Newton had seven hits in the contest led by Ariel Richard with two singles, Kristen Hardiek two singles and an RBI and Taylor Smith a double.
