SIU Edwardsville starter Haley Chambers-Brook limited Bradley to three hits and the Cougars slugged five doubles and a home run as SIUE topped the Braves 10-0 Tuesday afternoon in the final non-conference game of the year.

Chambers-Brook improved to 16-4 on the season with the complete game victory, scattering three hits over five innings, while striking out three and walking none.

SIUE (28-7 overall) jumped out to an early lead with a three-run first.  Chambers-Bock helped her own cause with a RBI double in the bottom of the first after a hit batter to open the contest and came around to score on a Zoe Schafer double.  Reagan Curtis gave the Cougars a 3-0 lead with a RBI single later in the inning.

Leadoff hitter Alyssa Heren got things started for SIUE in the second with a one-out single and Chambers-Bock drew a walk.  Schafer drove in two more runs with a double to right and scored to push the SIU Edwardsville advantage to 6-0 on a double off the bat of Allison Smiley.

Senior Kelly Kapp was the first Brave to reach base when she led off the top of the fourth with a bunt single.  Fellow senior Caitlyn McCarron added a one-out single of her own in the frame, but Bradley (18-18 overall) couldn’t push a run across.

A four-run bottom of the fourth gave SIUE a 10-0 lead.  Smiley plated Schafer with her third run of the contest with a two-out single and Sarah Lopesilvero had the big hit of the inning with a three-run homer to left.

Sophomore Megan Mahaffy doubled to open the Bradley half of the fifth, but Chambers-Bock settled down to retire the next three batters she faced to close out the win for SIU Edwardsville. Teutopolis graduate Allison Apke had one at bat for Bradley.

Bradley returns to action Saturday, opening a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series against Wichita State with an 11 a.m. doubleheader at Petersen Hotels Field at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.
