Mustangs Begin State Tourney Play Today

The Effingham Junior High School softball team begins State Tournament play today.

Game time is 4:30pm at Champion Fields in Normal.

Megan Tylka's team checks into state tourney play with a 16-3 record. A win will advance them to semifinal play Saturday at 12:30pm. A win in that game will put them in the championship game at 4:30pm Saturday; a loss would put them in the third place game at 2:30pm.

The girls departed the junior high building about 12:30pm today. A group of parents and friends were on hand for the departure. The departure followed a run through the halls of the junior high so each classroom's students could wish them well.
