Donnewald Claims Third Place at Invitational

Donnewald Budweiser played August 5-7 in Forsythe at the ASA Wooden Bat National Invitational Softball Tournament. The squad captured third place after going 5-2 over the weekend.

In Friday action, Budweiser defeated Springfield Franny's 9-2. Nate Westendorf was the winning pitcher.

In Saturday play, the Pinckneyville Falcons edged Donnewald 4-3. Donnewald then came back with a 4-1 win over Wessels Coors Light/Joe's Pizza. Nate Westendorf picked up the pitching win.

Budweiser then downed McMahon Meats 5-4. Josh Kreke was the winning pitcher.

In Sunday action, Budweiser edged the Belleville Stallions 3-2. Westendorf was the winning pitcher. Budweiser then downed Kelso Missouri Fastpitch 2-1. Kreke picked up the win. Budweiser then fell to the Pinckneyville Falcons 6-2.

Donnewald ended the year with a 23-17 record and also claimed the Edwardsville Tournament earlier in the season.
