Bulldogs Win at Kentucky Tournament, Shoes Pound Dieterich, Other Friday Scores

The St. Anthony softball Bulldogs posted a 15-3 four-inning win Friday over Fairdale, Kentucky at the Meade County, Kentucky Tournament.

The Bulldogs' five-run first inning was a good start. The lead was 7-2 after two innings and the Bulldogs then scored four runs in each of the third and fourth innings while holding Fairdale to a run in the bottom of the fourth to post the win.

Jenna Woltman posted the win for St. Anthony, allowing the three runs, two earned, on three hits, walking two and fanning a batter.

The Teutopolis Shoes softball team posted a 19-0 win over the Dieterich Maroons in softball action Friday.

T-Town didn't waste any time getting to work, scoring eight runs in the first inning and then adding two runs in the second, five in the third and four more runs in the fourth, amassing 18 hits in the process to win the game in five innings.

Hannah Hunzinger singled for the lone Dieterich hit in the contest. Hanna Ruholl allowed 15 of the T-Town runs, only four earned, on 15 hits including a home run, walking one and striking out four. Brayle Overton pitched the final two innings, allowing four runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk.

Kadi Borries pitched the first inning for the Shoes, striking out the side. Emma Beckman pitched the final four innings, allowing a hit and a walk while fanning seven.
