RAMSEY -- Ramsey edged St. Elmo/Brownstown 10-9 in junior high school softball competition Monday.

SEB held an 8-4 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Ramsey tallied four in the bottom of the frame. The score was tied at 9-9 after six innings. Ramsey won it in the bottom of the seventh.

"For the first game of the season, we did a lot more right than wrong," said SEB Coach Tom Fedrigon. "I was very pleased, for the most part, with the way we battled at the plate and the way we ran the bases."

Katelyn Maxey and Vayda Smith had two hits each for SEB. Maxey added two RBI.
