Murphy USA, Heart & Home Realty To Meet For Girls MInor Tourney Title

Heart & Home Realty and Murphy USA picked up victories in the Girls Minor League Softball Tournament Thursday at Evergreen Hollow Park. The two teams advance to the championship game scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m.

Heart & Home Realty edged First National Bank of Dieterich 11-10. Heart & Home took a 4-0 first inning lead. First National took a 5-4 lead in the top of the third but Heart & Home pulled back ahead 10-5 in the bottom of the frame. First National tied the score with five runs in the top of the fourth. Heart & Home scored the winning run in the bottom of the fourth.

Madison Mapes, Maddie Kibler and Julie Kinder had a single each for the winners. Mapes picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter.

In the second contest, Murphy USA broke a 3-3 tie in the fourth with six runs and went on for a 15-5 victory over Evergreen Mini Golf.

Murphy USA had two hits, singles by Taylor Greene and Stacie Vonderheide. Reagan Boone picked up the one-hit pitching win.

Rilie Willenborg had the lone hit for Evergreen with a double and an RBI.
