Teutopolis Sweeps Effingham in Softball

Teutopolis swept a doubleheader from Effingham in high school softball action Tuesday.

Game One, which was heard on KJ Country 102.3, saw Teutopolis down Effingham 5-3. The nightcap resulted in a 21-6 win for the Lady Shoes to push their season record to 22-1.

In the first game, Kadi Borries hit a three-run home run and allowed one unearned run in six innings for the win. Raegan Drees also homered for the Shoes.

In the second contest, Teutopolis hit five home runs, including two by Anni Borries who drove in seven runs as part of a 4-for-4 game.

The Borries sisters, who are twins, celebrated their 17th birthdays on Tuesday.

Shelby Borries homered for Effingham in the second contest. The Lady Hearts are now 13-10 on the season.
