The Lincoln Land Community College Loggers are headed back to the national tournament.

The Loggers swept a doubleheader with 11th-rated East Central Saturday, 8-0 in a five-inning contest and 7-2 to capture the District P championship in Springfield.

The two victories qualified LLCC for the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Softball National Championship Tournament. The tournament will be played Wednesday through Saturday at Traceway Park in Clinton, Mississippi.

It's the third consecutive national tournament berth for the Loggers, now 43-12 on the season.

Altamont graduates Lauren and Madison Ohnesorge and Lindsay Floyd of Windsor are on the Loggers squad. Floyd is a sophomore, while the Ohnesorge twins are freshmen.
