Hearts Lose Tough 1-0 Decision to Flora

A third inning run gave the Flora Wolfgals a 1-0 win over the Effingham Lady Hearts in softball action Friday.

The only run of the game was plated by Flora in the third inning.

Aly Armstrong took the tough loss for Effingham, allowing just the unearned run on three hits and a walk in four innings of work, striking out five. Hope Collier pitched the final two innings, allowing a hit and a walk while fanning one batter.

Syd Cammon pitched a two-hit shutout for the win for Flora. Armstrong and Kaylee Tonn collected the only two hits for the Lady Hearts, now 12-8 on the season.

The Hearts are right back at it today, hosting Salem in an 11am doubleheader at the EHS field.
