CHARLESTON -- Charleston Junior High School handed Teutopolis an 11-1 loss in the championship game of the Class 2A Charleston Softball Regional Tuesday.

Macey McElravy pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts. Charleston moves on to face Mount Zion, a 5-4 winner over Mattoon, in the Teutopolis Sectional Saturday at 11 a.m.

O. Niemerg had two singles and an RBI for T-town while E. Deters had a double. T-town ends the season with a 14-9-1 record.

At Casey

Cumberland picked up the championship of the Class 1A Casey-Westfield Regional with a 4-2 win over the host squad.

Casey-Westfield held a 2-1 lead after three innings but Cumberland tied in the fourth and tallied two runs in the fifth. Libby Dunaway moved her pitching record to 12-0 allowing seven hits, one walk and striking out 13. Sadie Oakley had a double and an RBI while Jazzy Oakley had a double and an RBI for the winners.

At St. Elmo

Windsor blanked Mulberry Grove 5-0 in the championshp of the Class 1A St. Elmo/Brownstown Regional Tuesday.

Windsor now advances to face Cumberland at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Cumberland Sectional.

 

At Kinmundy

Rome claimed a 16-3 win over South Central. Rome jumped out to a 12-0 first inning lead and never looked back.

South Central had two hits, singles by Angelica Rivera and Katlyn Hilmes.
