Impressive Comeback Sends Teutopolis Lady Shoes to the Class 2A State Championship (SCHEDULE CHANGE)

SCHEDULE CHANGE due to potential showers and thunderstorms today. FROM THE IHSA: The 1A Third Place Game will begin as scheduled at 10AM. The 1A Championship Game (Altamont vs. Campbell Hill Trico) will begin immediately following the Third Place Game which could be as early as 11:30AM. The 2A Third Place and Championship Game (Teutopolis vs. Rock Island Alleman) will begin immediately after the 1A Championship Game which could be as early as 2PM and will be played simultaneously on two fields. WE WILL CARRY both games live on KJ Country 102.3

The Teutopolis Lady Shoes are headed to the Class 2A State Championship game after a remarkable come-from-behind 6-5 win over Beecher, IL Friday evening in East Peoria.

The 'Shoes were down 5-1 after 3 innings. Teutopolis scored a run in the 4th inning, but let loose in the bottom of the 5th, scoring 4, capped off by a 3-run homer by Allison Apke.

Katie Borris got the win for the Lady Shoes, allowing 5 runs, 3 earned, gave up 11 hits, but walked only one struck out 2 Beecher batters. Allision Apke was 2 for 2, driving in 4 runs, and was hit by a pitch.

T-town is now 29-3 on the season, and will face Rock Island Alleman in the championship game Saturday at 5:30pm.
