Altamont Girls Win in Final Four Action, Headed to State Championship Saturday (SCHEDULE CHANGE)

SCHEDULE CHANGE due to potential showers and thunderstorms today. FROM THE IHSA: The 1A Third Place Game will begin as scheduled at 10AM. The 1A Championship Game (Altamont vs. Campbell Hill Trico) will begin immediately following the Third Place Game which could be as early as 11:30AM. The 2A Third Place and Championship Game (Teutopolis vs. Rock Island Alleman) will begin immediately after the 1A Championship Game which could be as early as 2PM and will be played simultaneously on two fields. WE WILL CARRY both games live on KJ Country 102.3

The Altamont Lady Indians are headed to the Class 1A State Championship game after a 3-1 win over the West Prairie Cyclones at East Peoria.

Altamont was keyed by back to back home runs by Lauren White and Lauren Ohnesorge in the 2nd inning. Deidre Ledbetter drove in another run in the 3rd inning with an RBI double, scoring Maddi Ohnesorge.

Altamont's Deidre Ledbetter threw 15 strikeouts, gave up 5 hits and one run in 7 innings of work.

This is the first time in school history that a team from Altamont has made it to the state championship. The Lady Indians will play for the title at 12:30 Saturday, and we'll have it live on KJ Country 102.3 FM. You can listen online here.
