T-town Softball Team Suffers First Loss

TEUTOPOLIS -- Casey-Westfield High School handed Teutopolis its first softball loss of the season Thursday evening, 7-4.

The Warriors scored quickly, taking a 2-0 first inning lead and pushed that to 5-0 in the top of the third. T-town rebounded with four runs in the bottom of the frame but the Warriors tacked on two insurance runs in the sixth.

Lexie Black picked up the pitching win, allowing four hits while striking out eight. Conner Cutright led C-W with a double and a triple while doubles came off the bats of Sarah Kuhn, Saidee Brandenburg and Maleah Neal.

T-town was led by Charlotte Wente with a single, double and two RBI. Cowman suffered the tough-luck loss, allowing nine hits, one walk and striking out six.

The Wooden Shoes drop to 21-1 on the season.
