Megan Cowman pitched a two-hitter as Teutopolis High School played host to Vandalia and handed the visitors a 10-0 loss in softball action Monday.

Cowman went five innings allowing two hits, one walk and striking out five as T-town improved to 15-0 on the season.

The Shoes had six hits in the game led by Danielle Repking with a double and an RBI and Kadi Borries with two singles and an RBI. Cowman aided her own cause with two singles.

T-town is back in action Thursday at Neoga in both varsity and junior varsity action.

At Teutopolis

At Neoga

Neoga also went 10-0 to beat Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick in five innings Monday.

The Indians stepped out to a 5-0 first inning lead then had a three-run second and a two-run fifth to end the contest via the 10-run rule.

Neoga was led by Cassie Blazich with two singles and a double. Allison Posten pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks.

Cumberland downed Casey-Westfield 4-3. Kaylee Carlen picked up the pitching win allowing six hits, one walk and striking out four.

Katie Poe had three singles and drove in two runs while Kayla Thornton had a single and double. The Pirates are ranked second in the latest Illinois Coaches Association softball poll.
