Effingham St. Anthony High School played host to Decatur St. Teresa and sent the visitors home with a 10-7 softball loss Tuesday evening.

St. Teresa took a 1-0 lead in the second and held that until the fourth when the Bulldogs scored seven runs. St. Teresa came back and pulled within 7-5 in the fifth and then tied the score in the top of the sixth. But the Bulldogs tallied three more runs in the bottom of the frame to pull out the win.

Both teams had 12 hits in the contest. The Bulldogs were led by Walsh with a single, double and two RBI, Niebrugge with three singles and two RBI and Nuxoll with a double, home run and three RBI.

At Effingham

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis bounced Central A&M 10-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule Tuesday.

The Wooden Shoes banged out 11 hits in the contest and tallied four in the third and six in the fourth.

Allison Apke had a single, home run and two RBI for the Shoes while Madison Cowman had a single, double and an RBI, Kadi Borries a single, double and two RBI and Julie Wente a single, triple and an RBI.

"Kadi was in complete control on the mound tonight," said T-town Coach Rich Niebrugge. "She threw a great game. We had several nice hits up and down the lineup."

T-town improves to 7-0 and won the junior varsity game 8-1. The Shoes are back in action today hosting Newton.

At Teutopolis

At Vandalia

Vandalia claimed a 5-2 win over St. Elmo/Brownstown as Megan Godoyo pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Vandalia broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run fourth inning. SEB drops to 5-5 on the season and returns to action Wednesday at Greenville.

At Dieterich

Neoga had an eight-run third and went on for a 10-5 victory over Dieterich in action Tuesday.

Dieterich held the early lead, 2-0 after the first. but that was short-lived as the Indians came roaring back with a run in the second and eight in the third. A. Posten picked up the pitching win on an eight-hitter with eight strikeouts.

Neoga was led in hitting by Potter with a double, triple and an RBI and Albin and Posten with a triple each. Albin had two RBI and Posten one.

Dieterich was led by Garbe with three singles and a double, Wright with two singles and Higgs with a double and an RBI.

Mulberry Grove jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead and blasted Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 19-1 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Mulberry Grove had 18 hits in the contest while Tompkins allowed only three hits while striking out four.

Kacie Hilt had a single and double for BCCH.
