T-town Bounces SEB, Stew-Stras/Windsor Nabs Win

ST. ELMO -- Teutopolis High School bounced St. Elmo/Brownstown 20-10 in five innings via the 10-run rule in softball action Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes were ahead 8-0 after three innings.  Madison Cowman didn't allow a baserunner in her three innings of pitching. She went on to garner the win.

Meanwhile T-town banged out 13 hits in the contest and was aided by five SE/B errors. Cowman aided her own cause with a single and triple while Kadi Borries had a single, triple and two RBI. Janelle Gebben chipped in with a double and drove in three runs. Mackenzie Wermert had a triple and two RBI. The Shoes improve to 2-0.

Leading St. Elmo/Brownstown was Danielle Austin and Kyrstyn Finch with two singles each and Darby Moss with a triple and two RBI.

At Shelbyville

Steawrdson-Strasburg/Windsor claimed a 9-7 victory over host Shelbyville Thursday.

Shelbyville held a 5-0 lead through two innings before SS/W tied in the top of the third 5-5. Shelbyville regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the frame. However, SS/W came back with two runs in the fourth to take a 7-6 lead.  Shelbyville tied the score in the bottom of the seventh, sending the game into extra innings.

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor then scored two runs to pull out the 9-7 win in the eighth. Becca Schlechte went four for five with three singles, a double and an RBI for the winners. Lindsey Burton and Kennedy Ferris had two singles and an RBI each. Madison Quast had a single, double and an RBI.

Stew-Stras/Windsor is now 1-1 on the season.

At Oblong

Oblong blanked Dieterich 2-0. Both teams had five hits in the contest and did not make an error.

Oblong's two runs came in the fifth. K. Pinkston led the winners with two doubles.
