Effingham St. Anthony High School traveled to Charleston to face the Trojans in soccer competition and fell 2-0 Monday.

"We played a solid game but just couldn't get the ball past Charleston goalkeeper Drew Smith," said St. Anthony Coach Scott Demers. "We had 11 shots on goal and only one was not on-frame or in the goal area. Charleston plays a solid midfield and practices good fundamentals."

Charleston scored on deflected shots that found the net while St. Anthony couldn't. St. Anthony MVP for the contest was James Kabbes. St. Anthony goalie Zach Tegeler had eight saves on 14 shots.

The Bulldogs drop to 4-2-3 on the season.
