Panthers Lose Women's Exhibition Soccer Match

INDIANAPOLIS – Eastern Illinois women’s soccer played its second exhibition match of the 2021 season on Wednesday afternoon as the Panthers lost a 2-1 contest at IUPUI. EIU will wrap up exhibition play on Sunday hosting Parkland College at 3:30 p.m.

IUPUI scored both of its goals just three minutes apart early in the first half as the Jaguars held a 2-0 lead at the half.  Sam Slimak scored in the 14th minute and Renae Blevins followed in the 17th minute with the second IUPUI goal.

EIU responded in the early portion of the second half with Jenna Little scoring for the Panthers. Little’s goal was assisted by Michaela Danyo in the 58th minute.

IUPUI finished with an 8-6 shots on goal advantage. Little had two of the Panthers six shots on goal for the match. Danyo added one shot with Eva Munoz, Itxaso Aguero and Amanda DaSilva all finishing with shots on goal.

Faith Davies played the second half in net making four saves. Daniela Bermeo started in goal for EIU.
