Knights 12u, 14u Teams Claim Wins

Wednesday evening the 14 and under Knights soccer team traveled to Marshall on what would turn out out to be a gloomy and rainy evening. The Knights came home with a win as they blanked Marshall, 12-0.,

Saturday, the Knights took both 12u and 14u teams to Robinson on a beautiful evening. The 12u Knights came out with an 8-0 win, and the 14u team also brought home the win, 9-0

Sunday afternoon the Knights hosted a several teams at the Knights round table. The 12u Knights played host to the Olney Tigers, taking an exciting 7-2 win.

Then the 14u squad took the stage as they played their first host game against the Olney seventh-graders, netting an 8-0 win.

Then the Knights played host to EIFC Charleston, which was a great battle ending in a 2-2 tie for the game with both teams battling to the finish.

To cap the evening off, the Knights played Olney eighth-graders finishing off with a 4-0 win.  It was a long cool and drizzling day of soccer.  

The 12u Knights moved to 10-1-1 while the 14u Knights moved to 13-1-1. Both see their next action Saturday.

As the State of Illinois rankings came out for the spring season, the 12u Knights moved from 27th in the state to 19th and the 14u Knights moved from 105th to 62nd.

"This is a huge accomplishment for the program," said Eric Morales. "These kids have worked hard to get where they are now. I'm very proud of these kids and their accomplishments."
