CHARLESTON -- Effingham and Charleston finished in a 4-4 tie in high school soccer competition Tuesday.

"It was a really close game with a lot of good, consistent, aggressive play," said EHS Coach Weston Peno. "We had a lot of shots on goal and were looking to capitalize often. We controlled the ball well. Charleston was able to make some nice runs and get numbers up for scoring opportunities, finding many in the middle after creating a gap."

Four different players scored goals for the Hearts. Osvaldo Angel had a goal from the half line, about 50 yards out. Also scoring were Tucker Moeller, Armando Estrada and Xander Marler.

Brandon Duncan had 10 saves.
