"We had a really exciting game tonight," said Effingham High School soccer coach Weston Peno. "It was a hard fought battle and a lot of back and forth play."

The Hearts fell to Mattoon, 4-3 Thursday. The Green Wave scored a goal in the last 10 minutes of the game to pull out the victory.

Scoring goals for EHS were Tucker Moeller, Bryan Angel and Armando Estrada.

"Brandon Duncan did exceptionally well in the save count," said Peno.
