Altamont Downs Greenville, Area Soccer Roundup

ALTAMONT -- Altamont High School edged Greenville 4-3 in soccer competition Friday.

The Indians took a 1-0 lead at the 31:00 mark in the opening half. Braden Grunloh tallied the goal on an assist by Donovan Delaney. Greenville then knotted the score at 1-1.

Altamont had back-to-back goals by Sabashtin Thompson at the four minute mark and again with :22 on the clock to give the Indians a 3-1 halftime lead.

Noah Klimpel then tallied a goal to start the second half at 37:15. Greenville came back with two goals only to fall short.

Altamont had 11 shots, nine on goal. Kenny Robbins had two saves.

Greenville had five shots, all on goal and finished with five saves.

Altamont improves to 5-8-2 on the season.

 

At Pana

Effingham St. Anthony fell to the Pana Panthers, 3-2.

Goals for the Bulldogs came from Luke Swingler and Reilly Ashton.

Will Swingler had four shots on goal and Ivan Dong had eight saves.

 

At Teutopolis

Hoopston came calling and claimed a 3-0 win over Teutopolis Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes are now 11-3-1 on the season and will play host to Bible Christian Academy today at 4:30 p.m.
