The St. Anthony Bulldogs edged the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes 2-1 Friday for the championship of the Altamont Class 1A Regional.

Alex Deters and Jack Nuxoll scored goals for the Bulldogs, while Jason Kowalski scored the lone goal for the Wooden Shoes.

St. Anthony advances to action Wednesday at 4:30pm in the Macon Meridian Sectional. The Bulldogs will take on Beardstown, who won the Carlinville Regional.

Newton was unsuccessful in trying to advance to the sectional, falling to Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin Saturday morning, 2-1 at the Raymond Lincolnwood Regional. 

Sacred Heart-Griffin will take on Pleasant Plains, who won their own regional, at Meridian at 6:30pm Wednesday. The Wednesday winners will play for the sectional championship on Saturday at 1pm.
