EHS Plays Olney to 2-2 Tie; Altamont Pummels CORL

Effingham High School and Olney played to a 2-2 tie in soccer competition Monday.

The Hearts pushed into the lead in the first half as Bryan Angel scored at the 30 minute mark and Cooper Jackson came back at the 29 minute mark with a goal. Alex Paisley had one save.

Effingham's Paisley had two saves in the second half. The Tigers scored two goals to end the game in a 2-2 tie. Trey Nosek scored at the 30 minute mark and Ingram tallied with 29 minutes left.

 

At Centralia

Altamont pummeled Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 8-1 to improve to 5-11-1 on the season.

Scoring for the Indians in the first half were Kolby Brewer with two goals, Jason Burns with a goal and CORL's Dylan Marble with a goal. Altamont led 4-1 at the half.

In the second half, Donvan Delaney tallied the first goal for the Indians followed by Marble with a penalty kick, Greg Stewart and Patrick Tkachuk scored the final two goals.

Altamont had 27 shots, 14 on goal. Brenynn Abendroth had three saves.

CORL had three shots, three on goal and six saves.
