Altamont Takes Win, EHS Suffers Soccer Loss

LINCOLN -- Effingham High School fell to Lincoln 4-0 in soccer competition Thursday.

Lincoln took a 1-0 first half lead on a goal by Kockenga then added on three more in the second half. Scoring were Boyd, Bailey and Grove.

Alex Pasley had five saves for the Hearts in the opening half and one save in the second half. EHS is 2-4 in the Apollo Conference, 6-8 overall.

 

At Altamont

Altamont was on a scoring blitz against Vandalia and ended up with a 10-0 victory Thursday.

Kolby Brewer started the scoring for the Indians with a goal at the 36:00 mark with an assist by Jason Burns. Burns then scored on an assist by Sebastian Thompson at 32:59. Donovan Delong scored the third goal with an assist from Thompson at 26:39.

Dylan Marble scored on a penalty kick at 22:57. Thompson scored a goal at 9:21 and Patrick Tkachuk scored at 8:27 for a 6-0 first half lead.

Greg Stewart opened the second half with a goal on an assist by Hayden Voeker at 38:44. Stephen Berg tallied a goal on an assist by Tkachuk at 10:49. Will Overton scored an unassisted goal at 9:53 and Isaac Crow tallied a final goal with an assist from Voelker at 5:57.

Altamont had 25 shots. The Indians improved to 3-11.

In a junior varsity  match, Altamont blanked Vandalia 4-0 to improve to 1-6-1.
