EHS Downs Altamont, St. A Falls To Centennial In Soccer

Effingham High School captured a 1-0 victory over Altamont in soccer competition Tuesday.

Freshman Said Angel scored in the 37th minute of the second half off a header.

Alex Paisley had three saves.

Effingham's junior varsity also claimed a 1-0 victory.

Effingham will be back in action today in the 21st Annual Red & Gold Invitational at Charleston. The Hearts will face Monticello in varsity play at 4 p.m. and junior varsity action at 5:30.

 

At Champaign

Effingham St. Anthony fell to Champaign Centennial in both junior varsity and varsity action Tuesday.

In the varsity match, Champaign Centennial was a 3-1 winner. Alex Deters scored the lone Bulldogs goal.

In the junior varsity match, Centennial was a 2-1 winner. Will Swingler had the goal for the Bulldogs.
