Effingham Rolls Over Salem in Friday Action

The Effingham High School soccer squad continues to roll, posting a 6-1 win Friday over Salem.

Salem took a 1-0 lead before the Hearts scored the final six goals of the contest.  Matt Steffen scored three goals with two assists from Jacob Gadberry and one from Ivan Carrillo.  Ivan Carrillo scored two goals with assists from Gadberry and Michael Carie.  Kohdai Nishida scored on an assist by Michael Carie.

Effingham improved to 9-2-1 with the victory.

Effingham won the JV game 4-0.  Ashton Haythorne scored on an assist by Jacob Gadberry, Gadberry scored, Tyler Katz scored on a penalty kick, and Haythorne scored a second goal on an assist by Katz.

Effingham's JV record is now 7-3.
