The St. Anthony Soccer Bulldogs captured the championship of their own invitational tournament for the first time Saturday.

The Bulldogs and Greenville played in the final game of the tournament based on the progressive points of the tournament. St. Anthony had won over Greenville 5-0 Friday evening in their first game of the tournament, but were ready for a rematch.

St. Anthony Coach Eric Morales said both teams were very tired, but at the end of two very hard-played halves of back and forth, the game ended in a 0-0 tie. Prior to the game, the coaches agreed that in the case of a tie, the deciding factor would be goal differential. St. Anthony had 11 goals in the tournament, while Greenville had a -1 differential, giving the win and the tournament to St. Anthony.

In their first game of the tournament, St. Anthony's Ryan Kruger opened the scoring with 18:02 left in the first half off a pass from Thomas Stephens. Kruger got his second goal of the game with 28:15 left in the second half, freshman Alex Deters added two goals, and Donovan Hammer rounded out the scoring with 9:56 left in the game.

St. Anthony then played Altamont to open play Saturday morning and posted a 5-1 win. Four minutes into the first half, Chandler Martelli put a shot past Altamont's goalkeeper Sam Childerson to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Eight minutes later, Martelli scored again with an assist by Thomas Stephens. Altamont scored six minutes into the second half on a goal by Thomas Caravello, but Martelli scored two more goals, providing the margin of victory for St. Anthony.

St. Anthony then posted a 1-0 win over Salem, with Donovan Hammer scoring the lone goal of the game when he kicked the corner kick.
