Blackhawks Blow Away Panthers
(Chicago, IL) -- Patrick Sharp had a goal and two assists as the Blackhawks ran out to a 6-2 win over the Panthers at the United Center. Marian Hossa, Brent Seabrook and Brandon Saad all had a goal and assist while Michal Handzus and Andrew Shaw also scored. Patrick Kane had three helpers as Chicago stopped a three-game slide. Corey Crawford left in the first period with a lower-body injury while Antti Raanta made 29 saves in relief. Dylan Olsen and Marcel Goc each scored for Florida in defeat. Scott Clemmensen made 26 stops for the 'Cats, who have lost four out of six.
Wild Skate Past Sharks
(St. Paul, MN) -- Zach Parise scored twice as the Wild skated past the Sharks 3-1 at Xcel Energy Center. Mikko Koivu also lit the lamp for the Wild, who have won three-of-four on the heels of a four-game skid. Josh Harding made 37 saves in the victory. Patrick Marleau scored the lone goal late in the third period for San Jose, which has lost three in-a-row since a six-game winning streak. Antti Niemi stopped 10 of the 12 shots he faced in the setback.
Bruins Bag Up Maple Leafs
(Toronto, Ontario) -- Patrice Bergeron and Carl Soderberg each had a goal and assist to lead the Bruins in a 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre. Boston scored three times in the second period. Torey Krug, Kevan Miller and Jarome Iginla all found the back of the net for the B's while Chad Johnson stopped 30 shots in the cage. Boston has won four out of five. Peter Holland scored and assisted on Jay McClement's tally for Toronto. Jonathan Bernier made 34 saves for the Leafs, who saw a modest two-game win streak end.
Capitals Blow Out Rangers
(New York, NY) -- Philipp Grubauer stopped 30 shots in his first career start to lead the Capitals to a 4-1 win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Washington built a lead with a three-goal second period as Jason Chimera, Steve Olesky and Mikhail Grabovski all lit the lamp. Nate Schmidt added a third-period goal as the Caps won their fourth in five games. Benoit Pouliot broke up the shutout bid for New York with his third goal of the year with less than two minutes to play. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 32 shots in defeat as the Blueshirts lost their third in four games.
Canucks Handle Avs
(Vancouver, British Columbia) -- Roberto Luongo posted 28 saves to lead the Canucks in a 3-1 win over the Avalanche at Rogers Arena. Mike Santorelli scored twice for Vancouver and assisted on Ryan Kesler's tally. Chris Higgins had two assists as the Canucks won their fourth straight. Jamie McGinn broke up the shutout bid in the final minute with his fifth goal for Colorado. Jean-Sebastien Giguere turned away 18 shots as the Avs lost their second in three games.
Blues To Head North
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Blues will take a 19-6-and-3 record on their next road trip. That will be in Winnipeg Tuesday night. St. Louis has lost three of its last four games.
