Red Wings Skate Past Sabres

(Buffalo, NY) -- Daniel Alfredsson and Johan Franzen tallied a goal and an assist each as the Red Wings skated past the Sabres 3-1 in Buffalo. Darren Helm also lit the lamp for Detroit, which has won two-of-three since a seven-game skid. Jonas Gustavsson stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced in the victory.  Cody Hodgson scored the lone goal for the Sabres, who fell to 5-19-and-1 with their fourth straight loss.  Ryan Miller allowed two goals on 33 shots in the setback.


Hurriances Down Senators

The Carolina Hurricanes began their last week of games in the month of November with a 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators. It marked the team’s first victory by a margin of more than a goal, as a three-goal second period from Patrick Dwyer, Tuomo Ruutu and Elias Lindholm put the Canes on top. Eric Staal added an empty-net goal late in the third period, and Cam Ward made 35 saves.


Blackhawks Meet Oilers Tonight

(Edmonton, Alberta) -- The Blackhawks take on the Oilers tonight from Rexall Place in Edmonton. Chicago notched a 2-1 win over Vancouver on Saturday night to improve to 16-4-4. The Oilers come in with a 7-15-2 mark. The puck drops at 8:30.
