Rangers Blank Capitals

(Washington, DC) -- The Rangers used two second period goals and 22 saves from Henrik Lundqvist to blank the Capitals, 2-0, at the Verizon Center. John Moore and Ryan Callahan lit the lamp within two minutes of each other to help New York snap a three-game losing streak. The Blueshirts had given up 20 goals during the three previous games. New York is 2-4-0. Washington was outshot by the Rangers 36-to-22. Braden Holtby kept the game close, turning away 34 shots. The Caps have lost four-of-five to fall to 2-5-0.

Ducks Douse Flames

(Anaheim, CA) -- The Ducks’ 3-2 dousing of the Flames tonight at Honda Center had a streaky feel to it. It was not only the fifth straight win for the Ducks after an opening night loss two weeks ago, but it was a remarkable 17th straight regular season home win over the Flames for Anaheim. The Ducks' win streak over the Flames dates back to January 19, 2004 -- so long ago that no players remain on the Anaheim and Calgary rosters from those teams.

Blackhawks Battle Blues

(Chicago, IL) -- The Chicago Blackhawks battle the St. Louis Blues tonight at the United Center. The Blackhawks come in at 4-1-1 after a 3-2 shootout win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. St. Louis defeated Chicago 3-2 earlier this month. The Blues are 4-1 after a 6-2 loss to San Jose on Tuesday.
