(Joliet, IL) -- Matt Kenseth battled the field and a nearly six-hour rain delay to pick up a win in the Geico 400 from Chicagoland Speedway in NASCAR's first race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Kenseth says everything seemed to go right at the tail end of the race.
The top seed passed Kyle Busch with 23 laps to go on a restart and held on for his sixth win of the season. Busch held on for a second-place finish while Kevin Harvick was third. Kurt Busch and Jimmie Johnson rounded out the top-five. Kenseth has an eight-point advantage on Kyle Busch in the points. The Chase heads to Loudon next week.
