(Newark, NJ) -- The Colorado Avalanche selected center Nathan MacKinnon with the first pick in the 2013 NHL Draft. MacKinnon posted 75 points last season for Halifax of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The Florida Panthers made center Aleksander Barkov of Finland the second overall pick while the Tampa Bay Lightning picked left wing Jonathan Drouin of Halifax third overall.
