Blackhawks Grab Game One Over Bruins

(Chicago, IL) -- Andrew Shaw lit the lamp midway through the third overtime period to lift the Blackhawks to a 4-3 win over the Bruins in Game One of the Stanley Cup Final. Dave Bolland and Johnny Oduya both scored in the third period to tie the game at three for Chicago, which hosts Game Two of the best-of-seven series Saturday. Shaw says he was in the right place in the right time.

Brandon Saad also scored while Corey Crawford stopped 51 shots.  Tuuka Rask made 59 saves in defeat. Milan Lucic scored twice to put Boston up 2-0 early in the second frame. Patrice Bergeron added a power-play goal early in the third period.


Flyers Acquire Rights To Streit From Islanders

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Flyers have acquired defenseman Mark Streit from the Islanders in exchange for prospect Shane Harper and a fourth-round pick next season. Philadelphia will now try to sign him to a new deal before he hits the free agent market on July 5. Streit had six goals and 21 assists in 48 regular-season games for the Isles this past season.
