Effingham Co. Fair Harness Racing Begins Sunday

Sunday begins six days of harness racing at the Effingham County Fair and races Sunday have been designated The Carl E. Becker Races.

Becker, who died November 29, was a long-time area horse racing announcer and breeder and his son, Kurt, will be announcing the races this week at the fair.

Sunday's races include the 3-Year-Old Big Ten Trot, the 3-Year-Old Big Ten Pace, a pace for fillies and mares, the IHHA 3-Year-Old & Up ICF Trot and an Open Pace for Nonwinners of $2,500 in 2022.

Racing will be held Sunday through Thursday with a 1 p.m. posttime and Friday with the posttime at noon.
