New York Racing Assoc. Suspends Bob Baffert

The New York Racing Association suspended trainer Bob Baffert for one year Thursday for repeated medication violations.

The two-time Triple Crown winner was given time served from an initial suspension, making him eligible again in January.

Churchill Downs suspended Baffert for two years after Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit tested positive in 2021 for a substance that isn’t allowed on race day. Five other

Baffert-trained horses have also also tested positive for a substance not allowed at that level on race day, but none of those violations was in New York.
