Several Local Disc Golfers Compete at White Squirrel Challenge

A number of local and area disc golfers competed in the 2022 White Squirrel Challenge.

The event took place May 22 in Olney, with local disc golfer Joseph Garland serving as tournament director.

In the Open Division, Lake Sara resident Alex Schimmelpfenning finished second at -3 with rounds of 52 and 55. Another local player, Mark Jones, finished third at +3 with rounds of 60 and 53.

In the Advanced Division, local disc golfer Cole Mintert took first place, shooting -3 with rounds of 57 and 50. Another local golfer, Andy Burgholzer, finished fourth at +11 with rounds of 62 and 59.

In the Amateur Masters 40}+ Division, Effingham's Gary Welton captured top honors with a +4 total with rounds of 58 and 56. 

In the Intermediate Division, Bob Feldhake of Dieterich finshed third at +9 with rounds of 61 and 58. 

In the Recreational Division, Andrew "Butter" Miller took second place honors at +11 with rounds of 62 and 59. Tim "Big Country" Dunahee tied for fourth at +17 with rounds of 67 and 60. Ben Keller finished sixth at +18 with rounds of 66 and 62. Ben Feldhake finished 10th at+25 with rounds of 69 and 66. Zeb Berry finished 12th at +29 with rounds of 70 and 69.

In the Novice Division, Kent Endebrock won his first tournament at +22 with rounds of 69 and 63. Endebrock beat another local disc golfer, Chris Durbin, by one shot as Durbin had rounds of 70 and 63. Marvin Lindsey finished ninth at +32 with rounds of 74 and 68. Bradley Livingston finished 11th at +36 with rounds of 70 and 76.
