Red Wings Advance, Two More Game Sevens On Tap Tonight

The Detroit Red Wings advanced to the second round of the NHL playoffs with a 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks in Game Seven Sunday night. In the Eastern Conference, two more Game Sevens take place tonight. The New York Rangers will play the Washington Capitals in DC while the Boston Bruins host the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Rangers Force Game Seven Against Capitals

(New York, NY) -- Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers stopped a barrage of late shots to secure Game Six of their Eastern Conference quarterfinals series against the Capitals, 1-0. The result sets up a Game Seven on Monday night in DC. Rangers head coach John Tortorella says Game Seven is what playoff hockey is all about.

Lundqvist stopped 27 shots en route to his first shutout of this postseason and the seventh of his career. Derick Brassard scored the game's lone goal midway through the second period for New York, which evened the best-of-seven series at 3-3. Braden Holtby made 28 saves for Washington.
