Altamont Sports Award Winners Named

Altamont High School girls award winners were, seated, left to right, Brooke Runge, Kimberly Brummer, Ciara Hankins, Brianna Grunloh, Kadence Wolff, Lanie Tedrick and Kendyl Schultz. The Altamont High School All Sports Banquet was held recently for the sports of golf, soccer, volleyball, fall baseball, cross country, boys basketball, girls basketball, spring baseball, softball, track and Indian Scholastic Bowl, Indian Dance and Indian Cheer.

 Awards in golf went to Tyler Stonecipher (most valuable player), Megan Williams (most valuable player), Kevin Hall (most improved) and Kimberly Brummer (most improved).

Soccer awards went to Tucker Short (most Valuable player, offensive), Kolby Brewer (defensive), Braden Grunloh (most improved), Jack Lowry (rookie) and Jordan Miller (defensive).

Taylor Mette and Ellie McManaway captured two awards in volleyball. Mette won the most kills and most digs awards while McManaway took most assists and best hitting percentage. Ada Tappendorf claimed most blocks and Olivia Eckhardt most aces.

Fall baseball awards went to Bradin Baucum (most valuable player, quality at bats), Kaden Eirhart (pitching), Tyler Robbins (defense) and Brayden Stuemke (Mr. Indian).

Derick Budde claimed the best season score in boys cross country while Jerod Ruffner won Most Valuable Runner and Corey Jackson Most Improved Runner.

Girls cross country award winners went to Taylor Mette (best season score), Brooke Runge (most valuable runner) and Brianna Grunloh (most improved).

Boys basketball awards went to Kaden Eirhart (offensive, free throw), Brennyn Abendroth (defense, rebound), Jerod Ruffner (Mr. Indian) and Derick Budde (Mr. Indian).

The girls basketball awards went to Peyton Osteen (trophy), Remington Miller (hustle), Grace Nelson (varsity Indian), Brooke Runge (varsity chief), Bailey Teasley (JV most improved) and Kimberly Brummer (JV hustle).

Spring baseball awards were claimed by Kaden Eirhart (defensive, most valuable player, Indian), Jared Hammer (quality at bats), Brayden Stuemke (pItching, most valuable player).

Softball awards went to Abby Goeckner (Silver Slugger), Ellie McManaway (Gold Glove), Ciara Hankins (Lady Indian), Kim Brummer (Lady Indian), Peyton Osteen (rookie of the year) and Bailey Teasley (most valuable player).

Boys track awards went to Derick Budde (senior most points, team most points), Tristan Rhodes (junior most points), Eric Kollmann (sophomore most points) and Logan Duncan (freshman most points).

Girls track awards went to Teirza Tippets (junior most points) and Grace Nelson (freshman most points, team most points).

The Scholastic Bowl awards went to Tyler Stuckemeyer (most points) and Sydney Feldkamp (highest percentage).

Indian Dance awards went to Ada Tappendorf (dedication), Kadence Wolff (coaches), Kendyl Schultz (showmanship), Paige Wendling (most Valuable), Josie Tedrick (leadership) and Lanie Tetrick (most improved).

Indian Cheer awards went to Emma Simmons (triple A), Kendyl Schultz (commitment) and Josie Tedrick (most valuable).

In addition, also presented were Baseball Team $1,000 Scholarship to Brayden Stuemke, Booster Club $500 Scholarship boy recipient to Brayden Stuemke and Booster Club $500 Scholarship girl recipient to Kendyl Schutlz.
