Blackhawks Blank Detroit, 2-0 In NHL

The Chicago Blackhawks blanked Detroit 2-0 in National Hockey League action Wednesday.

The two teams were scoreless in the opening period. The first goal for the Blackhawks was in the second period as Philipp Kurashev scored at 12:03. Assists were by Duncan Keith and Kevin Lankinen.

The only other score was a goal by Alex DeBrincat when he connected on an assist by Patrick Kane at 19:02 in the third period.

Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is still out with an unknown illness that has sidelined him the whole season.
