The Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to hear an antitrust case the NCAA contends has blurred “the line between student-athletes and professionals” by removing caps on compensation major college football and basketball players can receive.

An appeals court ruling upheld a lower court in barring the NCAA from capping education-related compensation and benefits for student-athletes in Division I football and basketball programs. The last time the high court heard an NCAA case was in 1984.
