President Trump tweeted three race-related sports world attacks on Monday, criticizing MLB’s Cleveland Indians and the NFL's Washington Redskins for considering changing their names, calling it “politically correct,” suggesting NASCAR banning the Confederate flag was a mistake that cost the sport TV ratings, and falsely accusing NASCAR’s only black driver, Bubba Wallace, of a “hoax” when a crew member found a noose in his garage stall, and saying he should apologize after the sport rallied around him over it.

The FBI said the rope fashioned as a noose was used as a garage door pull and had been there since October, so it wasn’t a hate crime directed at Wallace.

Wallace, who never saw the noose in person and didn’t report it, responded with a tweet in which he said, in part, “Love should come naturally as people are TAUGHT to hate. Even when it’s HATE from the POTUS .. Love wins.”
