Mia Totten Wins All Around Cowgirl Title

Mia Totten, 8 year old daughter of Ty and Mandy Totten of Altamont, IL recently competed in the Midwest Youth Rodeo Association Winter Series in Cloverdale, Indiana. 

The Winter MYRA Rodeo Series has seven rodeos in the series, which are held at the C Bar C Arena in Cloverdale, Indiana from November 2019 to March 2020.  However, due to the pandemic the seventh and final rodeo was held this past weekend to conclude the rodeo series. 

Mia competed in the Little Wrangler Division in the areas of  Barrels, Pole Bending, Flag Racing, Texas 8 Barrels, Dummy Calf Roping, Dummy Steer Roping, Breakaway Roping, Goat Tie and Goat Untie. 

Mia competed against 23 girls and 19 boys in her division to claim the title of All Around Champion. 

At the conclusion of the seven rodeo series, an awards ceremony was held for all individuals that earned top 6 in each of the divisions and an All Around Champion was named. 

Mia with her horses Hammer and Yadi earned the coveted All Around Champion title as well as being named Champion in Texas 8 Barrels, Champion in Goat Tie, Champion in Goat Untie, Champion in Flag Racing, Reserve Champion in Steer Roping, 3rd Place Overall Title in Dummy Calf Roping, 3rd Place Overall Title in Pole Bending, and 5th Place Overall Title in Barrel Racing.  She received a $1,000 voucher to design her own saddle, four belt buckles, head stall, two pairs of splint boots, and spur straps. 

Mia is also a member of the Wayne County Saddle Club and sponsored by Aces and Eights Western Store, Lone Prairie Performance Horse Supply, and Dan Hecht Chevrolet.
