Thanks to Toby Gullion of Radio Station WJBD in Salem for this story...

East Alton Wood River has become the 4th piece to the Cahokia Super Conference puzzle as they agreed to leave the Prairie State Conference.

They join Roxana, Okawville and Chester who have already made the move with Sparta waiting on a decision that should come at their June 11th meeting. Wood River gave its notice of departure from the PSC for the 2022-23 school year, though it could join the Cahokia as early as 2021 if parties agree.

Wood River would join the Large Division with their enrollment of 552 and will join Salem with 691, Roxana 550, Columbia 677, Freeburg 647 and Central 580.

Pending approval from Sparta, the medium division would include Wesclin, Red Bud, Sparta, Chester, Carlyle and Okawville.

The Small Division has in place Dupo, Marissa, New Athens, Steeleville, Lebanon and Valmayer.
