The Carolina Hurricanes clinched a Stanley Cup playoff spot with their 3-1 win over New Jersey Thursday night. It’s Carolina's first postseason berth since 2009, snapping the NHL's longest active playoff drought.


Capitals Clinch Fourth Straight Division Title

The Washington Capitals clinched their fourth straight Metropolitan Division title with a 2-1 victory over Montreal Thursday night. The loss leaves Montreal tied with Columbus for the final wild card spot, although the Blue Jackets hold the tiebreaker and have a game in hand.


Penguins Clinch Playoff Spot

The Pittsburgh Penguins clinched a playoff spot with Thursday night’s 4-1 win over Detroit. It’s the Penguins’ 13th straight year in the postseason, which is the NHL’s longest active streak.
