The Montreal Canadiens set a new NHL record for the fastest two goals by the same team as they netted a pair just two seconds apart to beat the Washington Capitals 6-4 last night. It broke the mark of three seconds set by the St. Louis Eagles on March 12th, 1935, and tied by the Minnesota Wild on January 21st, 2004. Goals have been scored two seconds apart in two other games, but they were one by each team.
