CHAMPAIGN – The University of Illinois will adopt a clear bag policy for entrance into State Farm Center for the 2018-19 school year. The policy will be enforced at all public events held at State Farm Center, which includes Fighting Illini men’s and women’s basketball, concerts, shows, musicals, plays, and other sports and entertainment events.

Each ticketed guest can carry one (1) large clear plastic/vinyl bag – either a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag, clear drawstring bag not to exceed 12" x 12" or clear bag tote no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" – plus a small clutch purse (4.5" x 7"). The small clutch allows privacy for small personal items and also is easily searched.

Illinois-branded clear totes and bags are currently available for sale at both Gameday Spirit locations and through their online store.

Other permitted items include binoculars without cases, personal pocket cameras without bags, and items related to a medical condition. Diaper bags with a child are also allowed but subject to search. Fans are encouraged to bring only necessary items into State Farm Center; all bags are subject to search and inspection.

Prohibited items inside State Farm Center include bags larger than 4.5” x 7”, backpacks, purses, food and drink, flags, banners, signs, blankets, noisemakers, weapons, non-clear bags, coolers, containers, laptops, video recorders, selfie sticks, umbrellas, strollers, or other items deemed dangerous or inappropriate.

To present a safe event for everyone, jackets may be searched upon entry. If prohibited items are found, the item will be confiscated or the guest may personally return it to their vehicle or otherwise dispose of the item away from the facility. State Farm Center does not check or otherwise safeguard personal belongings.

This bag policy is subject to change. Please check the event details for any additional specific event restrictions.
