Indy Car driver Robert Wickens underwent surgery to have titanium rods and screws placed in his spine to stabilize a fracture he suffered in a crash at Pocono Raceway.

The severity of Wickens’ injuries is still not known, although he’s expected to undergo further surgeries to treat more fractures lower in his body along with an arm. He is in stable condition.

His car went into the fence at Pocono after contact with Ryan Hunter-Reay.
