Issac Love Leads Tuesday's Harness Racing Victories

ALTAMONT -- Harness racing finally got to the post Wednesday at the Effingham County Fair after three days of washouts due to the heavy rain passing through the area.

Tuesday's card was contested first, here are the results.

Big 10 2-Year-Old Filly Pace  -- Special Duck and Stellabration came out together but Regina Skyscaper moved into the front. Regina Skyscaper then lost ground and Special Duck, driven by Jerry Mims, took control and won with a time of 2:09 4/5. It was Special Duck's fourth win in six starts with a second in another finish.

Big 10 2-Year-Old Colt Pace -- Legs To Dance took the lead attempting to pick up his fourth win in six starts. Legs To Dance and Fox Valley Oscar were side-by-side at the three quarter mile mark. Legs To Dance, driven by Issac Love, then went offstride and Fox Valley Oscar finished the top horse with a time of 2:03 2/5.

Big 10 3-Year-Old Filly Trot -- Independent Lilgal and Skillful Quacker were neck and neck at the first turn. Independent Lilgal led by a length and a half but Skillful Quacker regained the lead and went on to win in 2:07 1/5. It was the first victory in 10 starts this year for Skillful Quacker, owned, trained and driven by Douglas Graham, after picking up several victories last year.

Big 10 3-Year-Old Colt Trot -- Three colts went out in this one with Freddie Da Fox to the early lead for driver Freddie Patton Jr., Mcelwyn's Danger K went on a break and never contended the rest of the way. Freddie Da Fox took a three-length lead and controlled the tempo. He led by five at the three quarter mile mark. Southern Buzz comes on but Freddie Da Fox ended up winning by four lengths in 2:11 2/5.

Non-Winners $7,500 Lifetime Pace -- Andorlena and Geremy Bobbitt were making their first visit to the Effingham County Fair and it's one they will remember.  Andorlena came outside to challenge Sergeant Highway for the lead and moved ahead in a fast race. The opening quarter was 29 3/5 while the half was a minute flat. Ardorlena then took the third quarter at 1:31 and finished for the victory in 2:02. Bobbitt and Andorlena came 300 miles for their first visit and take the victory back home.

Free For All Pace, Division 1 -- Jaded Truth set the pace early and it was blazing. Richard S. Finn took Jaded Truth to the lead at the quarter mile in 29 1/5, 57 1/5 at the half and 1:28 1/5 at the third quarter. But, Duneside Life came on and went side by side down the homestretch, finally prevailing in the wicked pace with a time of 1:58 4/5, the fastest of the day. Duneside Life was born and is owned by Carl Becker's Fair Meadow Farm in Altamont. Duneside Life had won four times in eight starts at the Effingham County Fair and has been runnerup three times. Issac Love, from Lexington, Kentucky, was the driver.

Free For all Pace, Division 2 -- Issac Love picked up his third victory in the sulky on the day behind Bo Knows to Win. Canadian Mint took the early lead but Princess Oshie moved up to challenge and grabbed the lead. But that didn't last long as Bo Knows To Win sailed past to finish with the victory in 2:00 2/5. That was the 27th victory in Bo Knows To Win's career and the fourth this season.
